Australian MRI Workshop

Breast MRI: The Essentials

Advanced Orthopaedic and Joint MRI:
Emphasis on Reading and Imaging Interpretation

June 11-15, 2011

Sofitel Melbourne On Collins
Melbourne, Australia

38 AMA PRA (Physician Recognition Award) Category 1 Credits™

38.75 RANZCR CPD Points

BREAST MRI MODULE: 14 CME Credits   (16.5 RANZCR CPD Points)

Participants in this portion of the course will learn the fundamental principles of how to use and interpret breast MRI.   While mammography remains the gold standard for widespread breast cancer screening, breast MRI has emerged as an essential tool in screening certain high-risk populations and in pre-operative planning for women with breast cancer.   Since the introduction of MRI as a modality for the detection of breast cancer, radiology and oncology experts have been working to determine the appropriate times to use MRI and how it fits into the picture with mammography.

ADVANCED ORTHOPAEDIC AND JOINT MRI MODULE: 24 CME Credits    (22.25 RANZCR CPD Points)

MRI continues to advance diagnostics in the musculoskeletal axis with improvements in magnets, coils, and more importantly, increased understanding of the available equipment and applications. Our orthopaedic MRI workshop reviews bone and soft-tissue lesions, upper and lower extremities, sports injuries, and pathologic disorders for the imaging clinician.   Discussion of technique, pulsing sequences, indications, and applications ensures that this course provides information useful in your day-to-day practice, as well as current examples of more unusual findings.
