Screening Mammogram
What is it?
- Standard test used to detect unsuspected breast changes at an early stage.
- Breast is compressed while x-ray is taken, to improve ability to see as much breast tissue as possible
- Relatively small amount of radiation
- Quick and easy
- ProScan Imaging's non-profit Pink Ribbon Centers will perform screenings for patients aged 35 and up without a perscription
- The centers require a prescription if you are under 35 years of age
What's it used for?
- Routine/annual breast checkup
- Patients with no breast-related problems or concerns
- Best tool for screening women who are at low to average risk for breast cancer
