Pink Ribbon Supports Climb for Crossroad
On Saturday, April 24 the Pink Ribbon Center Over The Rhine was a participating sponsor in the 14th Annual Climb for Crossroad, benefiting the Crossroad Health Center in Over the Rhine.
Since 1992, Crossroad has been providing quality primary health care services to 5,000 patients of all ages from Over the Rhine and inner-city Cincinnati. Almost 40 percent of the patients served at the Center are uninsured. In 2010, Crossroad is tasked with raising over $400,000 to offset the costs of providing care to area patients. Climb for Crossroad is the organization’s largest fundraiser.
The event began at 10:30 a.m. with a leisurely two-mile stroll through the rapidly changing Over the Rhine neighborhood, ending with the traditional climb up 200 steps through historic Prospect Hill. Individuals and groups obtain pledges for each step climbed that benefit Crossroad Health Center. After the “Climb”, everyone, including participants, patients, and neighbors were invited to a family friendly festival at Crossroad Health Center that included entertainment, food, and carnival games for children as well as a community health fair.
