Visiting Fellowship Program Expertise in MR advanced imaging BEGINS WITH US
We invite you to participate in the Visiting Fellowship Program offered by ProScan Imaging Education Foundation. Our innovative educational program has been improved and expanded.
Recent enhancements include an updated MRI Education Center, the development of individualized study programs for physicians based on their specific learning objectives, daily one-on-one interactive sessions with faculty, “chalk talk” sessions with Dr. Stephen J. Pomeranz, and readout observations by attending radiologists.

Learning Environment
Most academic activity is conducted in a well-equipped Education Center. The program's features include formalized study programs for physicians based on their specific learning objectives, daily one-on-one interactive sessions with faculty, "chalk talk" sessions with Dr. Stephen J. Pomeranz, and readout observations with attending radiologists.

Clinical Volume
Proscan Imaging interprets more than 250,000 MR examinations per year, with at least 250 MRI and advanced imaging scans per day interpreted at our Cincinnati facility alone. Our highly varied MRI case mix includes MSK, CNS, cardiovascular, abdominal, and breast scans.
Individualized Education
Each physician may design a training program to meet his or her educational needs. The right program is available for the beginner in MRI – or the 20-year veteran!
New Focus Area Now Available; Breast MRI Study (Optional)
ProScan Imaging receives approximately five to ten breast MRIs daily, reading an average of 25 to 50 in-house a week. The cases read at the ProScan facilities include images taken on a wide variety of magnet manufacturers, ranging from 0.7 Tesla to 3.0 Tesla. Digitized correlative mammography is available for correlation with the breast MRI case studies.
Breast MRI Study Features:
- An introductory lecture on breast MRI with a discussion of the pathophysiologic basis of the technique, imaging interpretation, and reporting recommendations
- Interactive readout observation sessions with Dr. Stephen J. Pomeranz or other attending radiologists
- Access to an extensive collection of teaching cases in their original form, allowing them to review both the cases and the formal dictation
- A substantial number of dedicated breast MRI lecture topics based upon course presentations by Dr. Pomeranz also are available (DVD-based materials)
- Access to the full collection of over 500+ texts covering all aspects of MRI from the ProScan Imaging Radiology library will be available for review and study
| Study Modalities
The well-equipped ProScan Imaging Education Center offers personal study areas, each equipped with a computer loaded with extensive MRI reference and learning materials. In addition to self-learning, teaching is “at the console” with multiple readouts, daily lectures, and informal case review conferences or discussions of select topics in MR and advanced imaging.
MR Readout Sessions
Dr. Stephen J. Pomeranz or attending radiologists hold multiple readout sessions each day with Year-Long Fellows.Visiting Fellows are alwaysincluded in these sessions, as well as the interactivediscussionsthat have become such an integralpart of the fellows’ MRI learning process.
CME Credits
Daily Study: 6 CME Credits per day (additional CME for accredited CD-ROMs and DVDs)
Cost
The ProScan Imaging Education Visiting Fellowships are available by the day, week, or month(s). Tuition is $385.00 per day and fellowships are available year round.
Planning Your Visit
We can make travel and lodging recommendations as you plan your trip and restaurant and entertainment suggestions once you arrive.

Objectives
Participants who complete this self-directed MRI Visiting Fellowship will strengthen and enhance their skills in MRI interpretation. A Participant Profile will outline your individual learning objectives. At the end of the program you should be able to identify normal anatomy and variants, injuries, and pathology as they relate to MRI, allowing for practice improvement and better patient care.
Physician Attributes
One or more of the following topics will be addressed during this activity: better image triage, improved diagnostic acumen, change in approach to dilemmas, enhanced communication, practice systems, better utilization of technology, strategies for patient treatment, etc.
Accreditation
PHYSICIANS: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). ProScan Imaging Education Foundation is Accredited with Commendation by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Designation
ProScan Imaging Education Foundation designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6 AMA PRA (Physician Recognized Award) Category 1 credits.™ Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation. Additional CME is available through enduring materials.
